Funny cliche

I know it’s not a foreign cliche to me but I think unknown to a lot of people outside the Southern U.S., and not even technically a cliche. Coach Ragsdale at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas used to say, “Stick a fork in me. Ah-m done.” (I’m done.)

I love your cliche hunt! As you may know by now, I am a word lover myself so I'll be checking back more often to see what you might have discovered. :) I'll try to contribute some as well...as you know, the South is a repository of strange and quirky sayings. It's funny when expressions that are commonplace to me are completely unheard of by others (like my Canadian hubby! LOL!). I have actually heard the "stick a fork in me..." one before and I *think* Darren has too (I'll check with him before I say so for sure). If he did, then it's probably not a Southernism, strictly speaking.

Anyway, have fun and keep 'em comin'!

PS. We lived in Searcy for a couple of years or so when I was a little girl!
